When I met Will and Stephen in June and heard about their proposed 10,000 mile journey by car across Europe and Asia to Mongolia, I was hugely impressed by both their enthusiasm and their objective - to raise money for Save The Children and Send A Cow. I have to say however that their choice of vehicle did not fill me full of confidence and I did not expect them to get much further than Istanbul! Today I received their email from Samarkand which shows how unduly pessimistic my earlier prediction was. It is clear from their progress reports so far that these intrepid young men have already shown great tenacity and resilience in reaching Uzbekistan and have had a great deal of fun along the way. I send them my very best wishes for the remaining third of their epic journey and look forward to receiving news of their safe arrival in Ulaanbaatar. As to their fund-raising efforts, I hope that all who visit this website will help crown Stephen and Will's achievement by sending a donation to Save The Children or Send A Cow through justgiving.com. During my two-and-a-half year posting to Mongolia I worked very closely with SCF and have first-hand experience of the excellent work they do in helping to alleviate poverty in that desperately poor country.
